Turn off your inflammation with liposomal glutathione!

Both Dale Bredesen author of the End of Azheimer's and Dr. Christopher Turnpaugh, a well known chiropractor who specializes in brain genetic disorders both shared about the effectiveness of supplementing with glutathione to reduce inflammation.

Dale explained how glutathione works with selenium to mop up free radicals. He said selenium is the fire fighter and glutathione is the fire fighter's hose. It is constantly fighting fires ( neutralizing free radicals) so it needs to constantly be replenished. So low levels of glutathione can lead to inflammation, toxins building up in the body and loss of support for the synapse between the nerve cells. All of these play a role in the development of Alzheimer's. Selenium helps to regenerate glutathione so adequate selenium levels are essential. Dale Bredesen recommends 250 mg twice per day.

Glutathione seems to be a favorite supplement for Dr. Turnpaugh when it comes to supporting brain health. While at a two-day seminar teaching functional blood chemistry, he shared numerous case studies who all benefitted from glutathione. Glutathione is made up of three amino acids: glycine, glutamic acids and cysteine, which has the sulfur component, and they all reduce oxidative stress. The free radicals damage structures and functional pathways that result in inflammation, especially in the mitochondria. Other roles of glutathione are helping to maintain vitamin C and E, inhibiting viral production, and supporting gene expressions to name a few. Since glutathione alone is not stable, is metabolized quickly and can't cross the blood brain barrier, other forms have been used called pro-GSH. These derivatives, such as N-acetyl cysteine and S-acetylglutathione have greater hydrophobicity to allow passage through the cell membrane. AC Glutathione 250 is a great product by Apex Energetics.

A recap of the End of Alzheimers by Dale Bredesen

I ordered The End of Alzheimer's by Dale Bresesen right when it came out as I wanted to know which foods and supplements specifically supported brain health. I ended up buying three copies to give out
